We are delighted to be involved with Parkinson’s UK as they host an exciting culinary event in Birmingham, named Secret Supper. All profits will go to Parkinson’s UK. All attending the event will have a night full of good company and exquisite food.
What is The Secret Supper?
Offering a unique multi-dining experience, during Parkinson’s Secret Supper you’ll visit 3 different restaurants as you enjoy a 3-course meal. Each restaurant offers a differing culinary experience for you to enjoy, ensuring a pleasantly memorable meal and evening.
With six restaurants involved, you’ll only find out which three will form your personal dining experience on the night, as you enjoy welcome drinks at The Jam House. All restaurants are located around The Jewellery Quarter’s picturesque St Pauls Square, and are within walking distance of one another. Listed below are the six wonderful restaurants involved. If you decide to join us, you’ll be lucky enough to dine at three of them in one night!
- The Jam House – A live music venue located in a beautiful Georgian building, with a top-floor restaurant offering hearty culinary favourites.
- Pasta Di Piazza – Traditional and honest Italian food in a wonderful, rustic setting.
- Andersons Bar & Grill – A multi award-winning steak restaurant popular for it’s rare breed beef and emphasis on slow food and local ingredients.
- Cucina Rustica – Modern Italian dining in an elegant restaurant overlooking the beautiful St Paul’s Church. Popular for its fresh seafood dishes.
- St Pauls House – A trendy hotel with vintage-chic rooms, offering a modern dining experience.
- Locanta – Mediterranean and Italian dishes, with an interior combining tradition and minimalism.
Networking
Whilst this event is a fundraiser for an incredible charity, it’s also an evening that promotes networking with a difference. As you enjoy the delights of each restaurant, you’ll be grouped together with new people and encouraged to begin conversations and appreciate changing company.
Certainly an impressive social networking event like no other, bringing together local people from a multitude of disciplines. The added fun and mystery of your dining experience will prove to be a great conversation starter and add excitement to your meal. Above all, this unique event encourages all to get involved, no matter how big or small the group. Even if you are alone, you’ll make friends as you hop around The Square!
Why we wanted to be involved
Above all, Parkinson’s UK is a charity that does incredible things for people with this currently-incurable disease. When asked to be involved, we were delighted to offer our support as a drinks sponsor for the event. We also feel the offered experience is such a great idea. Encouraging the people of Birmingham to come together and value one another’s company and support local businesses, all whilst raising money for a truly fantastic cause.
Parkinson’s is a progressive neurological condition. Consequently, this means that it causes problems in the brain and gets worse over time. The number of people diagnosed with Parkinson’s in the UK is about 145,000. That’s around 1 adult in every 350. Money raised for Parkinson’s UK goes towards funding extensive research to find better treatments and search for a cure. It also provides the means to offer information and support to people with this condition.
Comment from Llion Jones – Managing Director:
“We, at Jones Davey are delighted to be sponsoring the Secret Supper event. Like many others, Parkinson’s UK is such a good cause to support. It’s also a cause which has affected my own family and will therefore be one we continue to support.”
